New Rankings, More Views, Honor Roll Auctions

Proxiblog is picking up digital steam with 9,368 views since May 2011 and new rankings with several of our TOP AWARD winners in the upper slots. Moreover, there are a record number of houses meeting basic coin standards for photography, buyer’s fee and more.

We start the new year with more auctions than ever meeting our Honor Roll standards, including two new Proxibid houses, MTK Auctioneers of Bloomfield, N.M., and The Auction Company of Jasper, Ind. Both feature 12% online buyer’s fee, with APN clearance and adequate photos.

When we started Proxiblog, we had a mere 11 houses on our Honor Roll; “The Auction Company” today became our 75th.

We also see improvements across Proxibid in coin photography. Most houses are acquiring APN clearance, too. (Make sure, if you do, that you handle shipping without requiring winning bidders to give credit card data to third parties, as this post explains.)

Finally, we want to thank Weaver Coin Auction and Key Date Coins for donating to the Iowa State scholarship fund. We publish Proxibid in our off hours for free, provide expert advice when asked, and hope that you will consider taking up Eddie Caven’s challenge of Key Date Coins and designate one lot for our scholarship fund.

Proxiblog is an independent entity with no connection to the auction portal Proxibid. Our intent is to uphold basic numismatic standards as established by the American Numismatic Association and the National Auctioneer Association and to ensure a pleasurable bidding experience not only on Proxibid but also on similar portals such as iCollector and AuctionZip.
